Building a strong foster community!

Thank you to Girl Scout Troop 6217 from Mt. olive.  They hosted a "Socktober" collection event in their town and collected 214 pairs of new socks for the While We Wait foster closet.  President Mind Savant was able to give some of the troop a special tour of the While We Wait space and explain our mission.  We can't wait to team up with these girls again in the future!

Look at this amazing group of young supporters. The Lucky Birds 4-H Club in Macoupin County not only collected donation items, they then joined us at the While We Wait foster closet to help sort and organize. We can’t thank these kiddos enough and all those who participated enough for your time and support.

Thank you to Carlinville Area Hospital and Clinics for their collection efforts during their 5 Days of Christmas Celebration and the “Oh What Fun It Is To Give“ event. They generously donated 22 winter coats and 66 pairs of pajamas. Again, we are beyond grateful for the support the community continues to show. 

A huge thank you to the students, staff and family’s at Zion Lutheran School in Mt. Pulaski. They collected donations of pajamas and personal care items, as well as monetary donations, in December. We are very appreciative of their efforts and for thinking of While We Wait over the Holiday season.

The BenGil Elementary Tigers collected baby item donations for the While We Wait foster closet during the week of February 10th-14th. The generous families of CUSD #7 collected: 15 packs of diapers, 16 packs of baby wipes, 5 bottles, 8 packages of socks, 13 bottles of bath wash, 5 bottles of baby lotion AND 67 pairs of pajamas.

Maurices (Litchfield, IL) recently donated their remaining Evsie clothes to the While We Wait foster closet. We are so grateful for this generous donation and such amazing community partners.

A huge thank you to the Macoupin County Public Health Department for their donation of 323 items from their recent Foster Care Supply Drive in honor of Population Focus Day during National Health Centers Week. These generous contributions are now part of a mission to ensure no one faces this journey alone, bringing comfort, dignity, and hope to those who need it most. We couldn’t have said it better: Thanks to this incredible community… Thank you for showing up, giving generously, and strengthening the heart of this community.
